Slate: My Life as a Rock and Roll Roadie
Overview
“I’ve been on the road for a month as a caterer for the rock band du jour. I’m averaging about four hours of sleep a night, and most of those nights are spent tossed about in a bunk the size of a Pez dispenser on a bus driving from one gig to the next.”
Back in 2001, I went on tour with one of the biggest rock bands of the day. I was their caterer. I lived on a tour bus, traveled the United States, and I wrote about the experience for Slate. Here’s a week in the life of a rock and roll roadie.
